Paulo's Parachute Mission Storybook

Overview

Paulo is not happy about his family’s move to Alcantara, Brazil to be close to its space launch pad. While Paulo’s parents, both aerospace engineers, are excited about the design projects in their new jobs, Paulo is worried about leaving his friends behind and meeting new people. The last thing he wants to do is make friends with his new neighbor, Lucas. 

Paulo soon finds himself working with Lucas to solve an aerospace challenge of their own—designing a parachute to help them drop fruit from trees in the forest. Will Paulo and Lucas succeed, and maybe even become friends along the way? 

Readers are encouraged to design their own parachute for a toy. With some creativity and knowledge of the engineering design process, everyone can engineer.
